Get ready for some new Gaga!
One of this year's most anticipated films is Todd Phillips' upcoming sequel Joker: Folie à Deux, which will introduce Harley Quinn as played by Grammy- and Oscar-winning legend Lady Gaga.
Gaga was first announced to be joining the film as Harley in August of 2022, immediately putting the film on our radars.
Shortly after that, it was announced that the movie would be a jukebox musical, making us even more excited for it! Gaga as a bisexual supervillain singing songs? How could we not be in? However, details on what the musical elements of the film weren't revealed at the time, leaving us guessing as to how many songs, both covers and originals, there would be. Now a new development may have our answers...
According to a new report from movie news site World of Reel, reporter Jordan Ruimy says that there was a test screening of the film held recently that revealed some details we didn't know yet.
According to Ruimy, the cut that was shown was around 2 hours and 29 minutes. It's not known if this will be the final cut of the film.
The report also says that the cut shown featured over 20 songs, with four of them being originals made just for this movie. Gaga does most of the singing, but there is at least one duet.
One of the highlights, according to the report, is a reworked version of Dinah Washington's "The Bitter Earth" with new lyrics as sung by Gaga.
We don't know for sure if this cut will be the one we see in theaters, and if it's not, we don't know how many songs will end up on the cutting room floor. But based on this, it seems like we'll be essentially getting a full-length Gaga album for the soundtrack!
