Does anyone still wear a hat? They do now!
Hats made a comeback at the 2025 Met Gala.

And while there were many examples of Black excellence on display on fashion's biggest night — and a few misfires — one theme was constant: hats are trending.
A part of this was due to some suggestions to guests from Vogue, which noted that "menswear staples, such as hats, ties, and perhaps canes, brooches, and pocket squares, are likely to have a strong showing too." The recommendation proved prescient, as the Met Gala's blue carpet witnessed a parade of over-the-top hats, bowlers, bonnets, baseball caps, and even a motorcycle helmet.
