Diva by Design

The Model
Based in Brooklyn, Maya Mones is the Dominican model has walked for the the likes of Chromat, Gypsy Sport, and Gogo Graham, but she's also a world-renowned DJ, part of the Discwoman collective of electronic musicians. "It is by no means an easy path to walk in these shoes," she says of making it in the modeling world. "But they were custom-made for me, so I'm grateful for every trip, fall, step, and stride."
The Diva
Donatella Versace is one of fashion's most iconic women -- not just for her signature purr and timeless sex appeal, but also because she designs for a distinctly femme sensuality that only a true Italian lady knows how to master.
The Curators
Jill Singer and Monica Khemsurov, founders of the editorial platform Sight Unseen, are interior design's tastemakers du jour. The duo commemorated their annual American Design Hot List by partnering with Moda Operandi on a curated collection of the best home goods, from pillows to Asa Pingree's velvet, foam and fiberglass stool, seen here. "I like the piece because it's an untraditional mix of materials," Singer says. "Asa grew up building boats in Maine, so the fiberglass is a nod to his childhood."

Head Over Feet

This season's comeback kid is the visor, reimagined by design star Eugenia Kim in a distinctly not-for-tennis metallic shade. Elevate the look (literally and figuratively) by copping yourself a new pair of heels, like the ones at right by Prada. (Everyone in the game knows Mrs. Prada designs a lift that won't kill your feet.) Or, at the very least, cop yourself a pair of her epic socks -- already a street-style fave -- before they're sold out. Artsy earrings optional.

Scent Message

The world of perfumery has a gender equality problem. That's why we love Celine Ellena, the daughter of famous Nose (yes, that's what they're called) Jean-Claude Ellena, who helped establish many of the iconic Hermes scents we know and love today. Celine says, "A perfume for the home is a smell we listen to." And thus, her candles for the house -- as much objets d'art as bougies -- offer the kind of chic, delicate ambience that only Hermes can.

Sensing A Pattern

Natacha Ramsay-Levi's role at Chloe has been full of hits, but if one thing is clear, it's that her accessory game is on point. Elevate any look -- be it a more dressed-up ensemble like the one here by Maki Oh, or a simple T-shirt and jeans combo -- by adding these sandals to your wardrobe rotation. To top it all off, you can never go wrong with a pair of statement glasses, and, luckily, Silvia Venturini Fendi knows a thing or two about stunner shades.
Blouse, $625, and skirt, $810, by Maki Oh; Shoes, $950, by Chloe; Earrings, $80, by L'Enchanteur; Glasses, $500, by Fendi. Chairs, $2,200 (pair), by Dusen Dusen x brendan timmins

Sneak Her

For some of us, toppling the patriarchy is best done in a sensible shoe. The only thing is, sneaker culture has maintained its male dominance (despite Supreme's reliance on artist Barbara Kruger's aesthetic). Why not cop a pair of kicks from Chitose Abe of Sacai, who has been breaking all sorts of fashion boundaries since forming her own label in 1999? Her new collaboration with Nike is sure to keep you light on your feet. And for the true sneakerheads, this tongue-in-cheek replica from Brooklyn ceramicist Diana Rojas is a clever addition to the home.

Toyfriend Dressing

You don't need a boyfriend to know how to shop menswear. Stella McCartney launched her men's line not too long ago, adapting some of the tailoring silhouettes she popularized in her women's collections for the boys. Ironically, nobody ever uses the term "girlfriend dressing" when referring to the street-style phenomenon of men rocking cross-body handbags. Don't let the boys steal your thunder: Cop Mrs. Prada's newest offering, the Brique bag, for yourself.
