Peter Berlin's Sensual Provocations are Making a Return on the Runway
Peter Berlin's provocations often overshadow his significance. But the skilled photographer and designer's self-portraiture and skintight garments helped usher in an entire movement, one in which queer men exaggerated their sexuality not just to turn tricks, but to turn heads. "I like to confront," he once said of his skimpy aesthetic, which he flaunted through streets, parks, and train stations around the world in his '70s heyday. This season, you'll find Berlin-esque attire on full display in collections from brands like Zegna, Prada, and Willy Chavarria.
