Disney has released the latest trailer for Into the Woods, the highly anticipated screen adaptation of Steven Sondheim's classic play.
The new tease gives us a little more background on all of the fairytale characters depicted in the film and how all of their paths intersect as they wish for more in their lives. And it also has a lot more singing! Disney finally showcases some of the musical's more popular songs.
Though the film won't be exactly the same as die-hard fans remember, the impressive cast should be able to smooth over any inconsistencies.
The film tells the story of the Baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt), and their wish to have a child. A witch (Meryl Streep) sends them on a quest into the forest and their paths cross with Cinderella (Anna Kendrick, her prince (Chris Pine), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), the Big Bad Wolf (Johnny Depp), Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy), her prince (Billy Magnussen) and a slew of other fabled characters.
Into the Woods releases in theaters this Christmas.
