Earlier this month, an unidentified Russian businessman bought Queen front man Freddie Mercury's Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 74 for PS74,600--about $117,800--more than six times its guide price of PS9,000). But no, it wasn't a shady billionaire, it was recently discovered that it was none other than flamboyant Eurovision star and Ukrainian drag queen Verka Serduchka (aka Andrey Danilko).
As NME points out, Serduchka finished second at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with a track called "Dancing Lasha Tumbai."
In a recent press conference, Serduchka said she intends to donate the car to a Queen museum due to open later this year. "I bought the car not to drive it, but to preserve it to fans of the Queen!" she said.
Before that, Mercury's Rolls-Royce will be exhibited during the show of Verka Serduchka & Band in Moscow March 9 and 10.
