Bimini Bon Boulash
has been one of Britain's most in-demand fashion figures since finishing as a runner-up of
RuPaul's Drag Race
UK
season two. Now, she's got a new magazine cover to prove it.
Boulash
entered the
Drag Race UK
werkroom
as a 26-year-old drag performer from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. After delivering their infamous line, "I'm vegan," Boulash also opened up about being nonbinary over the course of the season. Ultimately, the star made it to the grand finale but lost the crown to comedy queen Lawrence Chaney, but winning hearts the world over.
Now Boulash is appearing on the cover of
GQ
Style
talking about the whirlwind their life has been since appearing on
Drag Race UK
. Besides touring alongside their season two co-stars,
Boulash has also been getting booked
for numerous other opportunities. "[The other queens] are like, 'We've got a day off tomorrow' and I'm like, 'Yeah...'" Boulash remarked.
One of the consequences of experiencing so much success and working so hard to grow as an artist has been
Boulash's recent split from their partner
of four years. Overall, the queen thinks that breaking up with their partner was the less selfish thing they could've done.
"I want passion," they explained. "It was like, 'Oh, I've got a window here, let's have dinner.' I didn't like that for him." As a result, the 28-year-old has now been challenged to craft a fresh identity for themselves as a newly single person.
Later in the profile, Boulash also opened up about the impact that their
conversation with Ginny Lemon about non-binary
has had in the United Kingdom. In fact, Boulash and Lemon's chat in the
Drag Race UK
werkroom was a turning point for many viewers who identified as non-binary in the U.K. Boulash noted: "That was a moment. I got tons of messages from people from all age groups telling me that because it's such a simple explanation, 'Oh, I get it.'"
