If there's going to be a reboot of Glee, that's news to award-winning actor Chris Colfer, who until recently has focused not on acting, but on being a bestselling author.

As Out reported in March, after penning a successful series of children's stories, he has a "really smutty, really creepy, very gay" adult novel set to debut in 2027.

But what about Glee?

"I know nothing and have heard absolutely nothing," Colfer told Bustle in a new interview. "I wish I did."

Colfer, who played out gay glee club member Kurt Hummel in the hit Ryan Murphy show, revealed he would find it difficult to return to the character without some of his castmates. During its six-season run and since it went off the air in 2015, Glee lost co-stars Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Naya Rivera.

"It was a really tough show to do, and it would be really hard to do it now that Naya is gone," Colfer said. "But I do know that Glee fans would probably come after me with pitchforks and jazz hands if I said 'no.' So, I don’t know, but hopefully I’ll have more information and I can actually think about it."

That's not a "no," and even though the potential Glee revival is only an idea, Gleeks are responding in comments on Colfer's Instagram post of a behind-the-scenes photo from a new movie in which he stars.

"I'd just like it acknowledged that real gleeksā„¢ļø will absolutely not be coming after you with pitchforks and jazzhands for not doing a reboot like i promise we don’t want this without naya either," wrote @rootscanary.

"Speak for yourself," another Gleek replied.

Fans will recall that in 2010, Kurt fell in love with Blaine, played by Darren Criss as Kurt's first boyfriend. That sparked the creation of ā€œKlaineā€ which Bustle reported is still the show’s most ā€œshippedā€ couple, and reportedly one of the more popular romantic pairings in the fan fiction world.

Colfer delved into his feelings about fan fiction in the interview, which he said sometimes crossed the line from explorations of his character into his own personal life.

"A lot of fans thought Glee was a documentary, and they really, really wanted Darren [Criss] and me to be in a relationship in real life," he said. "Sometimes those people would cross a line and make me feel a little uncomfortable because they would bring so much of my personal life, or make up stuff about my personal life, to validate whatever story they were writing."

Speaking of writing, Glee creator Ryan Murphy recently revealed that he had ā€œjust finishedā€ a reboot script and claimed the cast was ā€œvery enthusiasticā€ about its potential.

ā€œWell, funny you ask, cause I just finished the script an hour ago,ā€ he told Entertainment Tonight last month. ā€œSo, we have a script. Brad [Falchuk], Ian [Brennan] and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something. I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members. It’s very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.ā€

Based on Colfer's conversation with Bustle, he apparently wasn't one of those 10.

Murphy added, ā€œNobody’s read it, so I don’t know, we’ll see. I vowed to myself that I wanted to write a couple of them to see what people think, particularly the cast, cause we were very close when we were making it.ā€

Now, for the first time in nearly a decade, Colfer returns to acting this month with The Restoration at Grayson Manor, a camp-filled queer horror flick co-starring Alice Krige.

"I really missed acting," Colfer said. "I had so much fun doing [The Restoration at Grayson Manor] that I hope I get to do it again soon."

As Bustle reported, he plays Boyd Grayson, the wealthy gay heir to Krige's character, and they have what's described as a co-dependent, toxic relationship. She resents him for refusing to continue the family lineage and he is seen in the trailer wearing a fabulous ballgown and romancing a mostly naked bear of a man. The plot centers on Grayson losing his hands in a freak accident, and the new set his mother manufactures controlled by his evil, murderous subconscious.
