And just like that, all of our excitement for this year's Savage X Fenty show is gone.
TMZ first reported the news that alleged abuser Johnny Depp is making a guest appearance in this year's Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 fashion show.
In the past, the Savage X Fenty shows have used "star" moments to highlight talented individuals like Cindy Crawford and Erykah Badu. Now, Depp will become the first man to have one of these roles.
The news has unfortunately been confirmed by people posting screenshots from their screeners of the show on social media.

We had been excited for the annual fashion show, helmed by RiRi, because other than Depp, it features celebs like Anitta, Maxwell, Cara Delevingne, Kornbread, Lilly Singh, Rickey Thompson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Simu Liu, Taraji P. Henson, Taylor Paige, and Winston Duke. However, it looks like now we won't be watching now.
While a court sided with Depp in his defamation case against ex-wife amber Heard, his abusive behavior towards women (including Heard) has been well documented. In 2018, he lost a libel case against The Sun newspaper, where a judge ruled that the paper had presented substantial evidence showing Depp was violent against Heard on at least 12 out of 14 occasions.
Additionally, court documents were leaked from the trial, showing that Depp's legal team tried to submit nudes of Heard into evidence in an attempt to slut shame her, as well as a declaration where Depp said that Heard never caused "specific physical or mental injury" to him, and disturbing and violent texts with fellow alleged abuser Marilyn Manson. In the Manson texts, the rocker tells Depp that his girlfriend at the time "pulled an amber on me" after she accused him of beating her.
Depp has also been quoted as texting a friend "let's drown her before we burn her" and "I will f*ck her burnt corpse afterwards to make sure she's dead" about Heard.
Sadly, I won't be watching the Savage X Fenty show this year, nor will I be buying any of the new lingerie, which I'm sure is terrific. With this show, music on the Black Panther 2 soundtrack, and a Super Bowl performance, this was supposed to be the winter of Rihanna. Unfortunately, the involvement of Johnny Depp puts a damper on all of it.
