We are all aboard the Pam & Tommy train!
The first trailer for the upcoming Hulu miniseries just dropped, not only showing Lily James and Sebastian Stan in all their Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee glory, but also giving us our first look at Taylor Schilling's character, a real-life queer porn star.
Schilling will be playing Erica Gauthier, the then-wife of Rand Gauthier, the former porn star who stole the infamous sex tape. Rand Gauthier, who is played by Seth Rogan in the series, became an electrician after his porn career, and found the tape while installing a studio and security system for Lee.
While Gauthier was mostly in straight porn and was married to Rand at the time, she was described by those who knew her as a "lesbian-leaning bisexual" and in a 1989 Hustler Magazine interview, she said she was exclusively lesbian off the set and just did straight scenes for money. A close friend of hers, Nina Hartley, said that she was "basically bisexual" after her second marriage to former NFL player Derrick Jensen.
Schilling broke out as the star of the Netflix drama Orange Is the New Black, where she played bisexual inmate Piper Chapman. She came out as queer in 2020, when she revealed her girlfriend on Instagram. During Pride Month of that year, Schilling's girlfriend, visual artist Emily Ritz, posted a picture of them embracing with the caption "I couldn't be more proud to be by your side Taylor, Happy Pride!"
Pam & Tommy is one of the upcoming shows we're most excited for. Sebastian Stan and Lily James are perfectly cast and the more we see of them the more we fall in love. This is going to be one rock and roll ride! Watch the trailer below.
