Elton John Postpones Concert, Feeling 'Extremely Unwell'

Elton John

The singer shared the news with his fans on Twitter.

Sorry Indianapolis-based Elton John fans, but you'll have to wait a bit before you can see the star rock out on stage! According to the star's official Twitter account, he's postponed a leg of his tour after feeling "extremely unwell."

"To my dear fans in Indianapolis," John posted. "It is with the heaviest heart that I'm forced to deliver the news that I am extremely unwell and therefore unable to perform at @TheFieldhouse tonight. I absolutely hate to let my fans down, but I owe it to you to put on the best #EltonFarewellTour show possible and unfortunately that's simply not possible."

He continued: "The date will be rearranged for March 2020, and I promise I will deliver the show you deserve. Thank you so much for your support and understanding. Elton x."

Originally, the Tiny Dancer singer was set to perform at Bakers Life Fieldhouse on October 25, but the date was shifted to allow adequate travel time from a rescheduled Toronto performance.

The news comes after John's mother-in-law Gladys Furnish passed away on Friday, although this wasn't cited as a reason for postponing the concert.

Bakers Life wished the singer a "speedy recovery" on Twitter. The October 26 concert date has been rescheduled for March 26, 2020.

The legendary musician kicked off his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour on September 8, 2018 and the tour will continue until December 2020. He's next slated to perform in Nashville, Tennessee on October 28th, although there's no word if this date will be postponed.
