The Emmy nominations were announced this morning, giving us a whole slew of names and shows to yell about. Thankfully, some of our favorite LGBTQ+ shows and performers got nominated, including Sarah Paulson, Murray Bartlett, and RuPaul.
Still, with the huge pool of queer talent on TV this last year, many, many, many of our favorite LGBTQ+ actors and actresses were totally snubbed, as were some of our favorite queer shows.
Here are some of our favorite queer nominees from this year's Emmys, as well as some of the biggest snubs.

Sarah Paulson scored her eighth Emmy nomination for playing Linda Tripp in Impeachment: American Crime Story.
While Euphoria got plenty of Emmy love, including for Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Colman Domingo, we're shocked that Hunter Schafer wasn't nominated this year for her incredible performance as Jules.
After winning the Critics' Choice award, and being nominated for the SAG Award for the role, Murray Bartlett got a much-deserved nomination for playing Armond, the stressed-out resort manager in The White Lotus.
While What We Do in the Shadows was nominated for Outstanding Comedy, we would've loved to see Guillen nominated for his amazing, hilarious, and unforgettable performance as vampire hunter/bodyguard Guillermo.
Yang is back with another nomination for his work on SNL after being nominated as a writer in 2019, and Supporting Actor last year. This year he faces tough competition from the casts of Ted Lasso and Barry.
Our Flag Means Death somehow got zero Emmy love despite being the best show on TV this year. The show deserved noms for Outstanding Comedy, writing, directing, and noms for stars Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby, at the very least.
In her final season on Saturday Night Live, McKinnon was nominated for her tenth Emmy Award, and ninth for acting. She previously won two Emmys in 2016 and 2017.
Schmigadoon! got a little bit of Emmy love, but it definitely deserved more! We would've loved to see nominations for Araina DeBose as the unmarried school marm or Alan Cumming as the closeted mayor. After her Oscar win, DeBose deserves more awards love!
Carmichael is up for Emmys for both Guest Performance on SNL and for writing his comedy special Rothaniel. We've loved the comedian for years, and after he came out, we couldn't be happier for him and his success!
One standout in Our Flag Means Death who should've gotten some Emmy attention is the hilarious and sassy Nathan Foad as Lucius. On a ship full of queer people, Lucius is the most experienced, constantly rolling his eyes and offering advice to the disaster gays in the crew.
Five time Emmy winner Jane Lynch got another nomination this year for guesting on Only Murders in the Building. She's previously won awards for playing Sue Sylvester in Glee, for Dropping the Soap and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and two for hosting the game show Hollywood Game Night.
Search Party came to an end this year after five award-worthy seasons. Star Alia Shawkat has transformed throughout the series, giving one of the most impressive acting performances we've seen recently.
Rupaul has eleven Emmys and this year is up for several more. He's won six times for hosting RuPaul's Drag Race and is up for the award again this year. The show is also nominated for Outstanding Competition Program.
Foundation got some Emmy love in the Special Effects category, but we think star Lee Pace deserves attention for his terrific performance on this wild show.
Both Queer Eye and the Fab Five guys got nominations at this year's Emmys in the Reality Host and Structured Reality Program categories. The show has won three times before, for Outstanding Structured Reality Program, Casting, and Picture Editing.
We're shocked that The Other Two didn't get any Emmy love! The show is hilarious and features some of the best writing and acting on TV. Where's the love for Drew Tarver?
After a long and distinguished career, Colman Domingo has scored his first Emmy nomination for playing Ali on Euphoria. As Rue's sponsor at Narcotics Anonymous, he delivers a powerful performance.
This was the last year for Netflix's Grace & Frankie, and unfortunately, it didn't get Emmy attention this year. We'd have loved to see the legendary Lily Tomlin get one last nomination for the show for which she was nommed four times before.
Einbinder scored her second Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress for playing Ava Daniels in Hacks. She's great in the show and definitely deserves the nomination.
While they scored a nomination last year for Outstanding Supporting Actor, Clemons Hopkins was snubbed this year.
We're so happy to see the queer League of Legends animated series Arcane nominated for Outstanding Animated Program. It's a stunningly beautiful show with great characters and impressive worldbuilding.
We would've absolutely LOVED to see the unfairly maligned Q-Force get an Emmy nomination for it's one and only season. The show had some of the best gay jokes you'll ever hear and will be sorely missed.
