At last, sapphic love on MAFS!

A lesbian couple is finally coming to Married at First Sight.

At last, the U.K. edition of Married at First Sight will finally feature the show's first-ever lesbian couple. In 2021, the series made history by showcasing its first-ever gay couple, Matt and Daniel. Now, a lesbian couple will get their own journey on MAFS.

An insider told Metro:

"Married at First Sight had a male same-sex couple last year, and now they will have a female same-sex couple. Everyone who works on the show is excited that it's happening. It's another small milestone for the series when it comes to diversity and inclusivity. The hope is that including a lesbian couple will break down some stereotypes."

So far, not a lot of details have been revealed about the duo that will be featured on Married at First Sight U.K. However, it is clear that this will be a landmark season for the series. In the past, mainstream dating competitions like Love Island have faced backlash in the U.K. for not featuring LGBTQ+ cast members on the show. In response, many other dating competitions have thankfully been more inclusive in recent years by featuring queer storylines.

Longtime fans of Married at First Sight are certainly excited about a sapphic love story getting highlighted in the upcoming season. Hopefully, other shows can also take that cue and feature more LGBTQ+ couples on TV.

Married at First Sight U.K. season seven is coming soon to E4.
