The Proud Family is coming back!

Disney+ has announced the second season of its Emmy-winning series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, revealing that it will premiere on Wednesday, February 1 on the streamer.

The new season will also feature plenty of terrific guest stars, including Gabrielle Union, Chance the Rapper, Normani, Leslie Odom Jr., Anthony Anderson, Holly Robinson Peete, Storm Reid, Courtney B. Vance, and Maury Povich as himself.

Also, Olympic gymnasts Dominique Dawes, Gabby Douglas, and the newly out Laurie Hernandez appear as themselves, joining Lacienega Boulevardez, who does gymnastics in the show.

Hernandez, who won a Gold medal at the 2016 Olympics and fellow Olympian Charlotte Drury recently announced their relationship after being together since 2020.

Normani won't just be appearing as a talking voice, she's also singing this season on the show. Kurt Farquhar, who wrote the original Proud Family theme song and the reimagined version, has co-written a new original song with Normani, Mariah Meshae, and Nkenge Kamau that Normani will sing in the new season. She'll reportedly sing several original songs.

According to a press release, season two of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder "continues to tell entertaining and laugh-out-loud stories, while highlighting culturally specific experiences of the Black community and addressing universal topics. Various storylines this season include self-worth, interracial dating, and Juneteenth."

Season one is currently streaming on Disney+, and new episodes will air weekly on the Disney Channel and Disney XD beginning in January 2023.
