We can't wait to watch!

Charlie and Nick are back!

Netflix announced today that season 2 of its hit YA romance series Heartstopper has officially wrapped filming!

Netflix shared the news on Twitter, with a picture of stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke and showrunner Alice Oseman in between them. Oseman is holding a clapperboard with a drawing of the two main characters, Charlie and Nick, on it and a rainbow progress flag design on it.

This upcoming season will see a lot of changes for Nick and Charlie, including several new cast members. Leila Khan has joined as Sahar Zahid, a Higgs school student, Jack Barton is on board as Nick's older brother David, Bradley Riches is playing Truham student James McEwan, and Nima Taleghani is playing Truham teacher Mr. Farouk.

Additionally, set photos have revealed that Charlie and Nick will travel to Paris this season. In the photos, it seems the two are enjoying a romantic vacation on the continent together.

Oseman has also said that this season she wants to explore themes of mental health in the series.

"The challenge of writing Heartstopper is exploring those darker issues while keeping the tone so optimistic and hopeful. That has been, like, the struggle of writing it for me the whole way through," she told Digital Spy.

Now that season 2 is done filming, we should expect a release date announcement coming soon. Heartstopper has also already been renewed for season 3. Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
