"Hamilton" star Javier Munoz stopped by "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" to offer his take on becoming the powerhouse play's "sexy" leading man.
"That's the last adjective whenever I think of the founding fathers," he said, laughing.
Munoz has replaced show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in the role. Hamilton took home 11 Tony awards this year after setting a record with 16 nominations, including best musical.
His casting is an inspiring choice for the acclaimed musical. Munoz comes to the role as an openly gay man who is HIV positive and a cancer survivor.
"My drive is rooted in my own personal experience in my life--it's the fear of dying," Munoz said.
