Bryce Dallas Howard Will Play Elton John's Mother

Bryce Dallas Howard has been tapped to play Elton John's mother in the upcoming biopic film about the singer, titled "Rocketman," Variety reports.

The movie, which comes from Paramount Pictures, will follow John's early life emerging as a child prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music, and the beginning of his superstardom when he teams up with songwriting partner Bernie Taupin.

Taron Egerton is cast in the role of Elton, with Jamie Bell playing Taupin and Richard Madden playing manager John Reid.

Lee Hall wrote the script, and the movie is being produced by Paramount, John, and David Furnish, his partner at Rocket Pictures.
