Honey, honey, we want to know more about this reunion!
Iconic Swedish pop group ABBA will be reuniting for a virtual reality experience in 2018. The show, which will be done in collaboration with American Idol creator Simon Fuller and Universal Music Group, might feature "hyper-realistic digital humans," which Fuller said he'd spent the last few years developing. The entrepreneur also told Variety that he has been investing more in VR technology to make this a reality.
ABBA, which is comprised of members Bjorn Ulvaeus, Agnetha Faltskog, Frida Lyngstad, and Benny Andersson, will be totally involved in the creative process and chose to make a prepared statement on the project.
"We're inspired by the limitless possibilities of what the future holds and are loving being a part of creating something new and dramatic here. A time machine that captures the essence of who we were. And are," said Andersson.
Lyngstad added, "Our fans around the world are always asking us to re-form and so I hope this new Abba creation will excite them as much as it excites me!"
Though many details will not be released until 2017, you can bide the time with a little #FlashbackFriday to their "Dancing Queen" music video, released in 1976. Watch it below.
