Looks like we'll be seeing more of Transparent creator and Golden Globe winner Jill Soloway! This time you won't need an Amazon Prime membership to watch her next show (but maybe a cable subscription? ah!).
Soloway is working on an untitled project for MTV, which will follow two women "who were hit by lightning after meeting at camp 10 years earlier and bonding over their enthusiasm for feminism," writes Variety. Who will these ladies be? Comedians Lyle Friedman and Ashley Skidmore.
We've seen the duo before when they made us LOL in all sorts of weird ways in #hotmessmoves. Now the funny girls, who are currently staff writers for Darren Star's TV Land comedy Younger, will have a chance to show off their writing and acting chops for a new audience.
"Lyle and Ashley have a magical ability to tap into the female psyche, and through their own special brand of truth and humor they absolve us of our most humiliating moments," Soloway says. "[I'm] excited to godmother this show and bring Lyle and Ashley's fresh take on lady power to MTV."
The untitled project is still in early stages of development, which gives us just enough time to sit on hold with Time Warner and get that blasted cable! (Or maybe a Hulu Plus account...that might be easier.)
