Darren Star is head back to television with a new series, Younger, picked up by TV Land. The network ordered 12 half-hour episodes of the sitcom, which tells the story of Liza (Sutton Foster), a single mother trying to re-enter the workplace. Thanks to a makeover, Sutton's character pretends to be 26 and ultimately lands a job at a publishing house.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Debi Mazar will play Maggie, Liza's best friend, while Hillary Duff is one of Liza's new co-workers.
“There’s nothing better than making a single-camera film comedy in New York – and I’m thrilled to be doing this one with TV Land,” said Star, who will be returning to his former stomping grounds where he filmed Sex and the City. This is Star's first major show since GCB, which ran on ABC for one season.
Younger is slated to premiere in the fall.
