A new volume of Queer Lens: A History of Photography is set to explore "the transformative force of photography, which has played a pivotal role in increasing queer visibility," according the press release.

The press release adds that the 342-page book will portray "complex interpretations of people and relationships" while "resisting rigid definitions."
A rich selection of portraits, visual records, documentary photographs of LGBTQ+ people, groups, and protests will all be featured in the hardcover book, 293 color illustrations and 1 gatefold, investigating "the medium’s profound role in illuminating the vibrant tapestry of LGBTQ+ communities."

Now's the time to protect queer art! Volume editors Paul Martineau and Ryan Linkof gave an exclusive statement to Out:
"Ryan and I are proud of the work we did to bring this volume to life," said Martineau. "It arrives at a time when greater understanding of queer people and their contributions to society is sorely needed."

Exhibition dates are set from June 17 through September 28, 2025 for visitors to view at the Getty Center in Los Angeles.
