Cosplayers Showed Up & Showed Off at Anime Expo 2022
We love a comeback!
After a two-year hiatus due to the ongoing global pandemic, Anime Expo -- one of the world's biggest pop culture conventions bringing together anime and manga fans from all over the world -- made its epic, four-day return to Downtown Los Angeles' Convention Center during the long Fourth of July weekend.
“We hope you enjoyed Anime Expo Day! (✯◡✯) Here a recap of day 3!”— Anime Expo (@Anime Expo) 1656975351
Being cooped up inside for two years obviously had a profound effect on con goers, because AX 2022 drew in a massive (and we mean massive) crowd. The excitement of being back in person (masked, of course) and celebrating anime with others was tangible and filling the hot, summer air. And besides all of the entertainment, panels, and shopping to be had, at this year's Anime Expo, cosplayers also came out in full force, and they were turning out looks!
Scroll through to see some of our favorite cosplay looks from the long holiday weekend! And for more information on Anime Expo, make sure to visit their official website and follow them on Instagram and Twitter. (Photos courtesy of David Li and Carlos Ermac)
