The trailer for the new documentary about M.I.A., MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A., is here, and it promises an exciting, complex, honest look inside the famous Sri Lankan Tamil/ British musician's life.
M.I.A. fled Sri Lanka as a refugee when she was 11, and the film seems to dig deep into the complexities of her identity and her history as an outspoken, and sometimes controversial, advocate for human rights and multiculturalism.

In addition, the film features inside perspective on her career as a musician, with hits such as the certified Platinum "Paper Planes," which was recently ranked as Rolling Stone's #2 song of the 00s.
