Since stories out of North Carolina and Mississippi have brought the limelight again to trans people, and specifically where and how they use the bathroom, a new online video, titled "#Trans102: Bathrooms" and viewable below, features a number of trans activists including Jen Richards (Her Story) getting into how transphobic legislation barring bathroom access affects transgender lives in serious ways.
The latest entry in the new (again) trend of people...edited together...to say one...complete sentence, the video is leading up to a new documentary series called More Than T, which spotlights the lives of six individuals in the trans community, showing diversity, triumphs and struggles that encapsulate what it means to be trans, and more. From award-winning trans director Silas Howard (Transparent), the content initiative is supported by the MAC AIDS Fund.
The #Trans102 clip is not to be confused with BBC The Social's Trans 101 video, which featured a fabulous Scottish trans woman named Kate who breaks down some of the most basic trans concepts (it's actually worth a view as well, even if you think you know everything).
And in case you're still confused, just refer to Dolly Parton.
