In a video released Monday, McCrory congratulated the Democratic Attorney General on becoming the 75th Governor and says he and his team will do everything in their power to help Cooper achieve a smooth transition.
McCrory, who lost public support after defending the controversial HB2 law, called the race the closest in the state's history.
"Despite continued questions that should be answered regarding the voting process," McCrory said in the video, "I personally believe that the majority of our citizens have spoken and we should now do everything we can to support the 75th governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper."
