The music video for "Lady Marmalade" from the movie Moulin Rouge was the definition of a Cultural Reset. It was the number one song in America for five consecutive weeks and was the top-selling song of 2001. It also won the 2002 Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals and the MTV Video Music Award for Best Video of the Year.
Still to this day, we can't stop talking about it. Everyone from casual fans to superstar musicians love the song and its iconic video. When you mention female pop collaborations, this is the first song you think of!
In a new video with Elle UK, Lizzo answers a whole series of questions, including her dream musical supergroup. She immediately jumped on the idea of doing a remake of the iconic bop "Lady Marmalade."
"I would say me as Missy, I would say SZA as Mya, Doja as Lil Kim, and that's Ariana Grande as Christina Aguilera's part," Lizzo answered. "And we would be FIERCE!"
We agree!!! Her dream lineup inspired us to think up our dream all-LGBTQ+ pop diva lineup. Click through to see who we'd cast and see if you agree!

While Lizzo cast herself as Missy, we have a different role for her (keep reading to find out), and we think the Queen of Bounce, Big Freedia, would be perfect to step into Missy's legendary sneakers. Just imagine the ad libs!
This is where we'd put Lizzo, who has one of the best pop-rock voices in music today. We'd kill to be able to hear her wail on this song. Please, Gay Jesus, hear our prayers and make this collab a reality!!!
This one's a no-brainer. With her smooth and sultry voice and laid-back, extra-cool vibes, Kehlani is the perfect person to fill Mya's role.
There are very few pop girlies out today who can match Xtina's legendary vocals, but one of those who can is Miss Kim Petras. Petras not only has the vocals to pull off the role, but the style and camp as well.
Yes, Lil Nas X started out running a Nicki Minaj stan account, but we want him to step into Lil Kim's shoes here. He knows how to bring the sexy, and just imagine him in lace and leather in front of a boudoir! Iconic!
