Nicki Minaj Teases Possible Kim Petras Collaboration on Instagram

Nicki Minaj and Kim Petras

We need these girlies to get together!

The Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj and Grammy winner Kim Petras just might be teaming up soon!

Fans are going wild over some social media interactions between the two music stars, hoping that it might mean a collab between the two of them is coming!

It all started when Petras commented on Minaj’s recent Instagram post showing off stunning pics in a black swimsuit and silk robe, which she captioned “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” Petras commented with two emojis: an open-mouth emoji and the blowing smoke emoji.

Next, Nicki followed Kim’s account, and replied to her comment, calling her “baby!!!”

Immediately, fans of both artists started asking for a collab between the two stars. One user named @_iracelmarocha_ said, “I need y’all collabs like yesterday,” to which Minaj replied, “oh yeah?” with the eyes looking emoji, hinting that we should watch this space for some exciting news!

Does this mean a collab is already on the books? Have Onika and Kim been scheming and teaming up behind our backs? We sure hope so!

Minaj is one of the most successful rappers alive, with 21 top-10 hits and three number-one hits, including last year’s bop “Super Freaky Girl.” She’s also had ten Grammy nominations, including Best Rap Album Year for Pink Friday.

Last year, Petras got her first top-ten and number-one song with the Sam Smith collaboration “Unholy.” The first single from Smith’s album Gloria, “Unholy” has stayed on the top-ten chart since it came out late last year and won the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

When Petras and Smith won, Petras became the first trans singer to win a Grammy in a singing category. She was also the first trans artist, along with Sam Smith, to top the Billboard Hot 100.

These are two of the hottest artists in music today, and a collaboration between them would be legendary. Please, pop and hip hop gods, make this happen!
