From #1 to the Grammys!
Sam Smith and Kim Petras' sexy smash single "Unholy' picked up its first Grammy nomination today, getting recognition in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.
"Unholy" is up against songs by ABBA, Camila Cabello ft. Ed Sheeran, Coldplay & BTS, and Post Malone & Doja Cat.
Smith has previously won four Grammys, including Best New Artist and Song and Record of the Year for "Stay With Me." This is their first nomination since 2015. This is Petras' first Grammy nomination.
Earlier this year, "Unholy" made Smith and Petras the first trans artists to have a number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Smith also became the first nonbinary artist to have a number one. The song has since dropped out of the top spot, but remains in the top ten. It's Petras' highest-ever charting song.
Previously, trans artists like Anhoni, SOPHIE, and Jackie Shane have gotten Grammy nominations.
The Grammy Awards will be held April 3 in Las Vegas. Good luck to Kim and Sam!!!
