This one's for the LGBTs!
Two absolute pop icons, Charli XCX and Rina Sawayama, are teaming up for what's sure to be one of our favorite tracks this year!
The two shared the news via Instagram, where Charli posted some pictures of them hanging out together. In the pictures, the two beauties are leaning in close together in matching white satin dresses. "It's finally happening..." the caption reads. "Angels and pixels assemble and follow us into the light. 'Beg For You' drops on Thursday."
Sawayama teased the song and sexy video on her TikTok in a minute-long clip that shows the two singers in white satin getting up close and personal while a wind machine blows in their hair.
"Don't you leave me this way/won't you wait another hour or two. You know I need you to stay/don't make me beg for you, 'cause I'll beg for you," they sing. It's a certified bop!
Sawayama had a breakout year in 2021, earning her first Brit Awards nomination after she successfully campaigned the show to change it's eligibility requirements. Sawayama, who was born in Japan, but has lived in the UK for 26 years, was initially told she was "not British enough" to earn a nomination. However, after a successful fan campaign to change the rules, she got her much-deserved nomination.
She also earned her first GLAAD Media Award nomination for Outstanding Breakthrough Artist, and appeared on Lady Gaga's hugely anticipated Chromatica Remix album, on the song "Free Woman." Sawayama is also one of the LGBTQ+ artists we're most excited to see at this year's stacked Coachella festival!
