MNEK is a talent! This is not new news. In fact it's the reason that his list of collaborators is so long: Dua Lipa, Christina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue, Beyonce, Madonna, the list goes on. All of your faves go to him for writing and production on their hits. But he's also a pretty amazing solo artist as well -- maybe you've heard the song "Never Forget You" which he recorded with Zara Larsson. That track has gone platinum multiple times.
All of that to say, MNEK is a talented songwriter and vocalist (if you watched the debut season of RuPaul's Drag Race U.K., you may remember that he helped the queens with their vocal production in a challenge). So when you lock him in his home with nothing to do, what exactly do you expect other than some a capella bangers?
Here are five clips the singer and songwriter uploaded to Instagram, and we aren't saying he has to do a whole album but can we at least get an EP bundle?!
1. "Bored"
"I'm bored, so damn bored," he sings in the first clip. Beautifully if I may add.
"I was supposed to be doing some vocal production today but self isolation so here ya go," he wrote in the caption to the post which he uploaded to Twitter and Instagram. And we say thank you for it!
2. "Stop the Spread"
Going to be honest here: we hum this one whenever thoughts of brunch cross our mind.
3. "Stay Indoors"
Brought out the old boombox, put it in the window, cranked the speakers as loud as possible and played this bop for anyone on the streets. A vocal production!
4. "Self Isolating"
A VOCALIST! Gonna have to stan on that one.
5. "Quarantine"
Now if you're wondering what would be the lead single for this ere it an actual project, "Quarantine" is the clear winner. "Don't know what you doing out yo' house. Why isn't there a mask covering your mouth? As if there ain't a virus spreading round and round. I'm talkin' bout a quarantine."
