Troye Sivan is teaming back up with Kacey Musgraves for a remix of his track "Easy" featuring Mark Ronson. Good news, folks, this is a certified bop, and one of the best songs of Sivan's career.
The remix is a little more up tempo and dancey than the original thanks to Ronson, and features a verse by Musgraves. While the song, which originally appeared on Sivan's 2020 EP In a Dream, is about yearning and regret, there's something undeniably fun about the sound of the remix. It's the same genre as Robyn's "Dancing On My Own," the dance your tears out genre.
You can't help but sing along to lyrics like "This house is on fire, woo! Burning the tears right off my face. What the hell did we do? Tell me we'll make it through," every time the chorus comes around. It's a rush of emotions, and really captures that feeling of being in a club dancing and yell-singing with a floor full of queers. It's exactly what I want right now.
The video sees Sivan and Musgraves going on a late night 80's drive, stopping at a line dance, drag show, old motel, and more. Sivan is looking fresh to death in a mullet, and Musgraves has dyed her hair raven-black. It's cinematic, it's sexy, it's perfect.
Sivan's soft and gentle, but enthusiastic voice pairs exceptionally well with Musgraves' Texas twang, they're a match made in dance club heaven.
This isn't the first time these two have collaborated. The two duet on "Glittery," a standout holiday song from The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show. Hopefully this won't be the last.
