PDA’s Larry B Drops Video for Solo Track, ‘Hit It Right’

“I had to wait until what I was making matched what I wanted to make in my mind.”

Sometimes a music producer gets the itch to take a step away from the sliders and switches of the booth and take a turn in front of the mic in the recording studio. So it goes for Larry B, one third of the London-based PDA.

The video for the British Ghanian's new song, "Hit It Right," finds him on a soccer pitch, dealing with all the pressure and drama accompanied with a free kick. Having fallen to the ground in the opening scene of the video, the light, clinking sound of "Hit It Right" accurately portrays the sort of slow-motion effect we feel when something drastic is happening. Larry B brushes himself off post-fall and sees the field through a dazed lens, watching the opposing goalkeeper vogue between the posts.

"I have been DJing since like 2011, and only really began making my own beats in May 2014," Larry B told i-D, who exclusively premiered the "Hit It Right" video. "It didn't take long before I began adding vocals to the instrumentals that I had made. Although I wasn't happy with the results then, I knew it was a direction I'd take, but I had to wait until what I was making matched what I wanted to make in my mind." Watch the video, below.
