Happy Monday, Out readers!
Did you have a nice Mother's Day? Here at Out.com, we celebrated queer and trans moms by highlighting 24 of them who inspire us to be our best selves every day!
These moms show that mothers can be so many different things. They can adopt, use a surrogate, or give birth, they can be butch or femme, trans or nonbinary, single or in a relationship. The thing they have in common is that they love their children.
Our list includes famous queer moms like Brandi Carlile, Niecy Nash, Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, and Miss Major!
Who are your favorite queer or trans moms?
If that's not enough mom energy for you, also make sure you check out our exclusive interview with trans teen advocate and beauty icon Zaya Wade!
In the interview, Wade revealed what beauty tips she's learned from her mom, Gabrielle Union.
"She's definitely really helped me in the hair department, you know what I mean? Something that I feel like when we say beauty, we don't always think of. But I mean, without her, my hair would be a hot mess," Wade told Out.com. "In the earlier years, I just did not have a clue how to maintain 4c hair because it's not something that's often explained."
"So having her as a guiding hand for that, whether it's active or passive, being able to watch her and her makeup journey and her beauty experience… It's just inspiring to me and how I understand beauty and care in this world," she added.
Check out our interview to see what else Wade said!
