The Disappointments creator Rich Burns teases more steamy scenes—with sexy older gay men

The raw queer show is amping up the sex appeal as season 2 finally drops.

There's nothing disappointing about this!

Rich Burns is finally giving fans what they've been waiting for as season 2 of The Disappointments is finally here. After trying to find a streamer to pick up the queer series since 2024, Burns is now releasing the show on YouTube for everyone to watch.

As creator and star of the gay show, Burns wanted to give fans the raw and authentic version that fans deserve. Leading up to the new season's release, the hunky actor also dropped the director's cut of season 1 to catch everyone up on the unfiltered shenanigans.

"There's more between Ray and Dwight. There's more conflict. There's a little bit more sex. Give the people what they want! YouTube restricted the episode because the sex was so hot. It was too slick. Now, it's a little bit more awkward, it's longer, and we took the music out, so you're hearing things," Burns tells Out.

Besides all of the sexy moments, The Disappointments follows a group of older gay men as they navigate complicated relationships, fleeting job opportunities, and the challenges of simply getting older.

"I've gotten quite a few comments from people saying how much they appreciate the show and they're grateful for it because it gives them the opportunity to imagine what their life could be like if they lived in a place where they could live freely," Burns says.

With a few queer shows already canceled in 2026, Burns is thrilled that his show can at least stream on YouTube and bring some crucial representation for older gay men in media.

"For me, I don't see a lot of representation of guys in their 60s trying to fix their disappointing lives. It reflects real life! The characters may be very heightened from who we actually are, but it does reflect the lives that we've led or imagined."

The Disappointments is streaming now on YouTube. To see the full interview with Rich Burns, check out the video at the top of the page.
