Will Emma Stone's Iconic Gay Porn SNL Sketch Get a Sequel?
The Oscar-winning actress is hosting SNL for the 5th time this weekend. Will one of her best sketches make a comeback too?
Unfortunately, Saturday Night Live won’t be returning to the set of a gay adult film this weekend when Emma Stone returns to host for her fifth time.
Stone, who is currently starring in the Paramount+ show The Curse, is coming back to SNL this weekend as host, alongside musical guest Noah Kahan. Unfortunately, we’ve now learned that we won’t see her reprise her role as Grace, “The Actress” from a hilarious sketch from 2019 where Stone played a struggling actress who books a role as a wife in a gay porn.
Bowen Yang, who wrote the original sketch with Julio Torres, was speaking on his Las Culturistas podcast with Matt Rogers when he revealed that the sketch won’t have a sequel.
"I think 'The Actress Part 2' would only disappoint," Yang said of the digital short, which saw Stone’s character go into a deep dive into her bit character in the porn video and also co-starred real-life porn actor Ty Mitchell. "I'm not gassing up my own work here, but the way that that was conceived and written, and made and shot and everything was so pure, and it was me and Julio, coming together.”
“It’s always diminishing returns,” he added, saying that he’s “already ruled that out.”
But Rogers still wanted to pitch his idea for a sequel.
"'The Actress 2' starts with the actress that Emma Stone plays in the first sketch. She's now hugely successful. We see her boudoir is filled with Oscars," Rogers said "Grace, who is known in Hollywood mononymously as Grace, has won six Oscars, all for lead. She's Emma Stone times 15. She's the biggest actress in Hollywood and they come to her with a pitch for another film with [porn star] Ty Mitchell. And she says, 'I don't know if I can go back to that place,' and they convince her and we see her doing Lady Gaga Method [acting] on the set."
“I have doomed it by pitching it here,” he joked.
