Australian actress Adelaide Kane has become the second queer actress to join the Grey's Anatomy cast in as many weeks, after Midori Francis was added. She'll play first-year surgical resident Jules Millin, who "was raised by drug addled artist/hippies and somehow emerged as the only real grown-up in the family. Because she always had to take care of herself and her parents, she can be a little bossy - but her heart is always in the right place. She's not afraid to break the rules to save a life, and sometimes it gets her in trouble."
At San Diego Comic Con, Den of Geek asked The Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg what it felt like being cast as the lead of a Star Wars show.
"So excited, are you kidding me? I've been on the edge of my seat for months. I've been attached for a long time," they said. "My whole life is Star Wars. I wake up and I think about Star Wars. I watch Star Wars before I go to sleep. I read Star Wars. I listen to Star Wars podcasts. My life has been transformed to be dedicated to this one universe, which is actually really fun and liberating. To finally be able to share it with people who love the universe so much, especially because they contribute so much to it...I'm just so excited!"
Ashley Benson is joining Eric Balfour, Claire Rushbrook, Marsha Stephanie Blake, and Morgana Van Peebles in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video drama series Wilderness starring Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.
The series "revolves around British couple Liv (Coleman) and Will (Jackson-Cohen) who seem to have it all: a rock-solid marriage; a glamorous new life in New York thousands of miles from their provincial hometown; and still young enough to feel that their whole lives are ahead of them. Until Liv learns about Will's affair. Heartbreak is swiftly followed by another emotion: fury. Revenge is her only option, and when Will proposes a trip around America's epic National Parks to give their relationship a fresh start, Liv knows just how to get it...Wilderness is a twisted love story, where a dream holiday and a supposedly 'happily-ever-after' quickly turns into a living nightmare."
SNL'sBowen Yang and Hacks star Meg Stalter have joined the cast of Universal's upcoming untitled buddy comedy from the Saturday Night Live trio known as Please Don't Destroy. The film "tackles the story of three childhood friends who live and work together. The trio decides they don't like where their lives are headed and set off to find gold treasure rumored to be buried in the nearby mountain." It also stars Conan O'Brian, X Mayo, and Nichole Sakura. Of course, Ben Marshal, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy - who make up Please Don't Destroy - are also starring.
Paulson is taking her horror bona fides to the big screen! After starring in American Horror Story, Paulson is set to star in the Hulu horror thriller movie Dust. Directed by Will Joines and Karrie Crouse, Dust portrays "a mother trapped by increasing dust storms as she is haunted by past encounters and a threatening presence and takes extraordinary steps to protect her family."
