Jamie Clayton is about to become every sapphic monsterf*cker's number one crush!
Clayton, who starred in Netflix's Sense8 and now stars as the beautiful Tess on The L Word: Generation Q, has not only been cast as the iconic demon Pinhead in the new Hulu and Spyglass Hellraiser movie, but principal photography for the film has already been shot!
Clayton will be starring alongside Odessa A'zion, and the cast will also feature Brandon Flynn, Goran Visnjic, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, and Hiam Abbass.
Hellraiser has always been one of the kinkier, and gayer, horror franchises, coming from the mind of gay horror icon Clive Barker. Now, with Clayton, a trans actress in the lead villain role, the franchise is getting even queerer.
David Bruckner, who directed the new installment, had nothing but praise for Clayton in the role and for Barker. "It's been such an honor to have Clive onboard to help support and shepherd us through the incredible universe he created so long ago," he said in a statement. "Combined with a fearless and committed cast, including the amazing Jamie Clayton, who fully embodies the role as the Hell Priest, we're aiming to create a very special new chapter in the Hellraiser legacy."
Barker himself added that the new movie will put an all new twist on the classic demons. "Having seen some of the designs from David Bruckner's new Hellraiser film, they pay homage to what the first film created, but then take it to places it's never been before," he said. "This is a Hellraiser on a scale that I simply didn't expect. David and his team are steeped in the story's mythology, but what excites me is their desire to honour the original even as they revolutionize it for a new generation."
Clayton is about to awaken a whole lot of things in a whole lot of people with this role. She's already got our full attention. She's already one of the most crush-worthy actresses in Hollywood, and now she's showing us an entirely new side, one that we can't wait to see and get scared of (and turned on by).
No release date for the film has been announced, but the new Hellraiser will debut in the US exclusively on Hulu!
