Imagine being mistaken for Jared Leto.
On Monday, May 2, various new outlets reported that Jared Leto walked the 2022 Met Gala red carpet in a eyebrow-raising look. Some trumpeted it as a complete transformation. And they were right: transformed into a completely different person.
The person in question, wearing an over-the-top from the couture designer Iris van Herpen, was Fredrik Robertsson. Robertsson is a self described "creative dictator" and "fashion addict" who had been chronicling his Met Gala makeover all day.
In 2019, a Vogue profile on Robertsson noted how his "head-turning" style had caught the eye of certain editors at the magazine. In the story, Robertsson was described as "the editor-in-chief of Boy magazine" and as someone who "sits on a philanthropic board that supports LGBTQ activists and organizations globally."
Leto did arrive at the 2022 Met Gala later in the night, but he wore a suit by Gucci's Alessandro Michele and dressed exactly like the designer with whom he arrived.
