UPDATE (9/30/2019): If you were wanting to get the new Saint Laurent condoms but were worried about price, worry no more. Though the product is not available for purchase on the brand's site, some "Find In Store" pages show that their condoms are 5 euros a piece — that's about $5. What's more? The wrappers come in a variety of prints that would be familiar to any Saint Laurent devotee including a classic gold wrap, a classic black, cheetah print and more.
ORIGINAL (9/27/2019): Condoms, Rose! Condoms! And high fashion ones at that.
Though most of the conversation here in America have shifted to PrEP and U=U to prevent the transmission of HIV, there’s one tried and true method that’s pretty effective at fighting the spread of almost all sexually transmitted infections: condoms. And now, the fashion house Saint Laurent Paris, is signing on board.
“#condom by Juergen Teller at Saint Laurent Rive Droite,” the brand’s artistic, creative, and image director Anthony Vaccarello wrote in an Instagram post today. Simple enough — to the point. The caption was for, what appears to be an ad campaign titled “The Love Affair,” shot by Teller. It features the back of model Anja Rubik, and the tattooed front of model and artist David Alexander Flinn. Almost, the entire front!
Flinn appears in the image, nude except for the tattoos that crawl across his body. The only reason that its not a full frontal, and passes the Instagram censors is because he covers the twig and berries. Well, he covers the twig. But we still see the berries a little?
The image includes that the new Saint Laurent Condoms are “exclusively available at Saint Laurent Rive Droite,” which is a new concept store for the brand, opened under Vaccarello. There’s no indication for how much they are but can you really put a price on something like this?
While the brand has yet to post the campaign image on its offical Instagram (we are sure it’s on the way) it seems they are doing an IRL push. Posters of the image are already being posted to Instagram plastered around in Paris.
We, decidedly, must stan the sex positivity.
