Esprit By Opening Ceremony
Opening Ceremony has joined forces with Esprit to create an '80s-inspired capsule collection, marking the second time the two brands have collaborated. The new range, announced today, offers a mix of ready-to-wear menswear and womenswear, featuring classic sportswear silhouettes in bright, spring/summer colorways.
"Esprit and Opening Ceremony share an ethos, from our relationship with global youth culture to our insistence on diversity in fashion," said Humberto Leon, one half of Opening Ceremony's founding team. "This collection channels that spirit."
The collaboration is largely broken into four categories--the first is a group of pastels, recalling the key color scheme of late '80s, early '90s fashion; the second is a group of striped pieces, styled in the lookbook as one intensly patterned outfit for an overwhelming, completely childish attitude we're obsessed with; the third sees vintage-inspired, psychedelic patterns take center state and the last is quintessential Esprit, featuring the logo letters in saturated hues.
"We are very proud to see the collaboration with Opening Ceremony going into the second season with so much energy," said Arnd Mueller, Esprit's Chief Brand Marketing Officer. "The project is an inspiration. It is a fresh, modern and very relevant interpretation of the original vision of the Esprit brand."
