Ready for this year's New Year's Eve spectacular?

The campy duo of Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper have performed their gay-straight pantomime for the past few year's during CNN's New Year's Eve Live coverage. In 2009, Griffin dropped the F-bomb and made the smutty "knock dicks out of your mouth" comment. Then, the following year, she attempted to strip down to her underwear. Then it seemed Griffin outdid herself when she attempted to simulate oral sex on her openly gay best friend. Through it all Cooper giggled with glee. Despite all the antics, Griffin and Cooper have remained fast friends and will be back for another year. Even though she tells the New York Times, "They fire me every year."

In a new interview in Sunday's Style section, the pals sit down over sushi and dish. Here's a few of the things you shouldn't miss:

Coop, like most of us, doesn't enjoy NYE:

"I started working New Year's Eve because I find it dreadful in New York. You can't get a cab, and Uber is four times the normal cost. There are lines for everything. So, I volunteered to work."

Kathy really is obsessed with Ryan Seacrest:

"Only because you think he's a real person. And I know he's a robot. And I will happily call him right now and tell him. Watch: Anderson is already texting an apology."

Kathy didn't meant to "out" Anderson by all her on-air banter:

"I know two straight guys: my boyfriend and my dad. So, if I talked to Anderson like a gay guy, I didn't mean to out him, I was just talking the way I talk."

Why Anderson was a child model:

"Well, there aren't a lot of ways a kid can earn money... [I needed money] Because I wanted to be independent, on my own."

It turns out, Anderson's mother Gloria Vanderbilt wanted to meet Kathy after she saw her do NYE with her son:

"Gloria invited me to this one dinner, with Wes Anderson and Nobel laureates and Joyce Carol Oates. And they were all talking over my head, and I felt very insecure until Glo said, "Kathy, what's going on with the Lohans?" Then I held court for a minute because I know everything about the Lohans. Everyone was interested. I was shocked. Like: Joyce Carol Oates wants to know what's going on with Dina and Allie?"
