How did you celebrate your last birthday?
Probably not with as much fanfare as our friends at The Advocate, which celebrated 45 years of existence Thursday night at the world-famous Beverly Hilton hotel.
The Advocate 45th Presented by Lexus opened with a performance of Katy Perry's "Firework" by the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (check out the video below!) and featured remarks from Here Media CEO Paul Colichman and Advocate Editor-in-Chief Matthew Breen before emcee Ross Mathews took over.
A video of congratulations from fans like Ellen DeGeneres, Ricky Martin, Kathy Griffin, Sean Hayes, Judith Light, Rep. Henry A. Waxman, Larry Kramer, Greg Louganis, Dustin Lance Black, and Senator Dianne Feinstein played and then attendees were treated to a set by musical guest Macy Gray.
Guests included Jesse Tyler Ferguson, David Burtka, Dustin Lance Black, Camille Grammer, George Kotsiopoulos, Mark Deklin, Perez Hilton, Rex Lee, Marisol Nichols, Willam Belli, Drew Droege, Bruce Vilanch, Billy Bean, Gloria Allred, and many more. Check out a slideshow of the event here.
