Yesterday, Montclair State Universitiy's LGBT center fell victim to threatening anti-gay remarks written surrounding the student center room. Vandals scrawled "you will die soon F****ts," and "Fags will die on 2/7" on the walls of the area and other parts of campus. However this incident is not the first time the center has received hateful threats. In October, a similar incident was reported while LGBT students attended a meeting and discovered a note stating: "You will feel the wrath of Allah/ Your thoughts are immoral/ homosexuality is sin/ Allah says you must pay."
In a letter to the student body, Montclair State University president Susan A. Cole condemned the unsettling acts in the following email:
"These actions are grossly unacceptable in our community and a clear violation of University policies, as well as the basic tenets of human decency. A bias incident is a criminal act, and anybody found responsible for such actions will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
