The Guardian reported last month that the new album will be released traditionally and will also be available as an iPad app. Not just one iPad app, but 10 (one for each track), all synced with a "mother" app.
The wait to explore her new multimedia project may soon be over as the album's (app-bum's?) first single, "Crystalline," just leaked. The xylophonic tinklings backing the track give it a distinctly childlike feel, while Bjork's trademark industrial percussion and sci-fi lyrics instill a familiar sense of dramatic, futuristic unease. In a sense, it has everything we've come to expect and love from the Icelandic visionary.
