First Impressions: Wendy & Lisa's Snapshots

Melvoin's signature guitar scratch -- the one heard on "She's Not Me," the standout track on Madonna's Hard Candy -- is prominent throughout the collection, and is at the heart of "Time," a disco soul track that leaves you half expecting a Lisa Stansfield vocal to pop in at any moment.

With their insistent and percussive beats, "Rosalyn" and "Rock Song" are the most fully realized and are truly standout tracks. "Rosalyn" leans more to the funky club side with Coleman's synth lines both holding the groove and tossing in flourishes throughout. Coleman's keyboards also kick off "Rock Song" -- which starts gently before living up to its name with a crescendo of raging guitars and banging drums.

Written, performed and produced by Wendy & Lisa, Snapshots is a do-it-yourself project and will be offered in editions that range from a digital download up to an "ultra limited edition" with canvas print and hardcover photography book. They will be available exclusively at their official website.
