Grupo Irék Lands at NYC's Thom Bar

Grupo Irek has played private parties for Sting. Demi Moore asked them to play Ashton Kutcher's 30th birthday party. The band, lead by singer Chino Pons whose dancing has been compared to Fred Astaire and Michael Jackson, has also played for Madonna, Oscar de la Renta, Javier Bardem & Penelope Cruz and Mickey Rourke. Now they'll be playing for you live at Thom Bar in NYC's 60 Thompson hotel.

Get a sample of Grupo Irek's Cuban sounds (a mix of Son, Cha-Cha and Mambo) at their MySpace page and then make plans to head to Thom Bar every Sunday starting February 21. The band will be playing three sets at 9, 10, and 11PM. Even better: there's no cover and there's a 2 for $12 drink special on mojitos and rum sangria.
