We’ll absolutely be seated to watch this ‘Gladiator’ sequel!

Paramount Pictures is currently working on a sequel to the 2000 film Gladiator, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture and grossed over $500 million at the box office. The original movie, which was directed by Ridley Scott, featured Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius and Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus as the leading actors.
Scott is returning to direct Gladiator 2. The upcoming sequel will feature Paul Mescal (Aftersun) in the role of Lucius, who happens to be Commodus’ nephew. Other additions to the cast include Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin) as Emperor Geta and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Emperor Caracalla. Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) will also be in the movie, but further details about his role remain undisclosed.
Needless to say, we can’t wait to watch these Hollywood heartthrobs in a new Gladiator movie.
