For four years, Kevin McHale co-starred on the groundbreaking Fox comedy Glee with Cory Monteith. Now, a decade after Monteith tragically passed away, McHale is remembering his friend.
The 35-year-old actor didn’t just give a tribute to his late friend, he also revealed that he was in London with another Glee co-star when he got the tragic news.
10 years ago today I was in London with Naya. We immediately met up after being woken up by the worst possible news. We spent the day partly in shock, partly laughing at our memories, partly crying at the impossibility of it all. 10 years later, not a day has gone by where I…

“10 years ago today I was in London with Naya. We immediately met up after being woken up by the worst possible news,” McHale revealed on Twitter. “We spent the day partly in shock, partly laughing at our memories, partly crying at the impossibility of it all. 10 years later, not a day has gone by where I don’t miss you - both of you. Thanks for sharing your light with us for as brief as it was.”
McHale and his co-star Jenna Ushkowitz have been doing a lot of Glee remembering lately on their podcast And That’s What You Really Missed. He recently revealed that Ushkowitz and Rivera had staged an intervention for him about his prescription steroid use while filming.
Lea Michele, who starred in Glee and was dating Monteith at the time of his death, also posted a tribute to Monteith on the anniversary of his passing.
“It feels like only yesterday that you were here and yet a million years ago all at the same time,” she wrote. “I hold all of our memories in my heart where they will stay safe and never forgotten. We miss you every day and will never forget the light you brought to us all. I miss you big guy.”
