Angelica Ross Details Emma Roberts' Transphobia on American Horror Story: 1984 Set

Ross said that Roberts was "playing mind games" with the entire cast.

True

Angelica Ross wants Emma Roberts to be held accountable for her actions.

One day after revealing that she was ghosted, disrespected, and left under contract with Ryan Murphy and American Horror Story, resulting in her missing other career opportunities, including one with Marvel, Angelica Ross is revealing even more about the mistreatment she faced while filming AHS: 1984.

After hinting that one of her costars on the show was transphobic, Ross has now named that co-star as Emma Roberts. She detailed the behavior in an Instagram Live.

“I’m standing in front of Emma, talking to her like this, and she’s in front of me, her back against the mirror,” Ross recounted in the video. “She goes, ‘John, Angelica’s being mean,’ and I know she’s not being for real for real, she’s just being whatever. And John is like ‘Okay ladies, that’s enough, let’s get back to work.’”

“And she then looks at me and she goes, ‘Don’t you mean lady?’” Ross continued. “And I’m like, trying to process the f*ck she just said. I’m standing there, and she walked away, and my blood is boiling. Boiling. Because I’m like, if I say something, it’s gonna be me that’s the problem. And I know this because there was someone who spoke up about what she was doing, and they got repercussions from it. Not her, they did. So when I saw that happening, I was just like, ‘I’m done.’ I didn’t speak to that b*tch the entire time after that.”

“So we had scenes together and I never spoke to her,” Ross said, noting that Roberts had been “playing mind games” with everyone on set.

In a tweet, Ross also shared another example of Roberts’ transphobia on set.

“We’re all sitting around & I’m copying Cody’s accent. Didn’t know he had one,” Ross said about co-star Cody Fern. “Emma then copies my voice & laugh and drops it several octaves. I was SHOOK. She read me for blood with my own words. Of course I was self-conscious about my voice on set after that.”

While Ross is absolutely done with Roberts’ bullshit, she only wants her to be held accountable for her actions.

“Let me make something absolutely clear,” she tweeted. “I appreciate the support but please do not joke about violence towards Emma. Joke about her being held accountable. Now THAT's funny.”

We hope that Angelica Ross's career thrives after this, with her becoming as in-demand as an actor of her talent and caliber deserves to be. Now that would be funny.

Murphy has yet to comment.

UPDATE: Ross has since tweeted that Roberts called her directly to apologize and recognize that her "behavior was not that of an ally."

"I will leave the line open to follow up on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with your platform," she added.
