Kesha Opens Up About Her Sexuality, Celebrates Pride Month

“I’m not gay. I’m not straight. I don’t know what I am."

One of the absolute best things about Pride Month is seeing all the people who feel encouraged to open up about their sexuality and gender identity.

Now, we can add pop icon Kesha to that list. The "Praying" singer went to Instagram to talk about her sexuality and remind everyone why she's the queer icon she is.

"In case I haven't been straight forward enough (LOL) I just wanted to take a sec to tell everyone that you are not only enough, just as you are, but the world is so fucking lucky to have you," she wrote. "I'm not gay. I'm not straight. I don't know what I am. I love people. I love people because we are all our own little consciousness journeys, dancing around the sun."

"How weird and interesting and fun this life is, right? I refuse to be anything, really, except for open to it all," she continued. "I know it can be confusing sometimes, but you are so seen and loved. Love u animals, happy pride see u at Stonewall soon!!!!! Also yes, I've been wearing the same thing for like 4 days. What?"

We love it!

Kesha has been open about her sexuality for years, and we're always happy to see her open up more about it. In 2019, she told Attitude that she was bisexual and in an open relationship with her long term boyfriend.

"He knows that I'm just a wild spirit that needs to run free, and that I always come back to the barn for apples from my boy," the singer said of her relationship at the time.

She also used last year's Bi Visibility Day to celebrate her sexuality, kissing singer Betty Who on stage during a performance. The two artists were touring together at the time.

This is exactly why we love Pride Month. It's not about the corporate products or the kink discourse -- it's about celebrating who we are.
